Food to avoid during A Detox Diet
When you are detoxing and preparing for colonic irrigation, it is so important to avoid certain foods as they will add toxification quickly to your system. The idea is to give your body a break as you undergo colonic irrigation.
White Refined Flour
“The whiter your bread the quicker you’re dead”. Refined white flour is similar to sugar actually as when broken down by the body it forms simple sugars and spikes insulin levels. Wheat also contains a protein called Gluten and even more specifically a type called Gliadin. These are like glue in your colon! (This is why its SO important to have colonic irrigation with your detox diet so that as the impacted matter is loosened you will eliminate it)
Milk
Human beings are the only species that drink the milk of another species and also continue to drink milk into our 30’s! Strange I’d say! Humans lack an enzyme called lactase that is necessary to break down lactose – the natural sugar in milk. Some people also battle to digest casein – a major protein found in milk, therefore we cannot digest it properly and we have some serious side effects from it, like sinusitis, respiratory disorders, mucus in the bowel and acne. We have been brain washed into thinking that milk is so important for our health, but did you know you get more calcium from seeds, nuts and beans than you do from milk!? Another negative is that cows are fed many antibiotics and growth hormones that get re-concentrated into the milk that we drink!Coffee Sorry all you coffee addicts out there! Coffee aids in cell water retention – not great for cellulite! It also is known to be high in pesticides (so use an organic one if absolutely necessary!) but can also interfere with
insulin control, increase the chance of strokes, raise cholesterol, and increase the risk of heart disease! Its possible to actually see mucous from dairy products as they leave the colon during colonic irrigation.
Artificial Sweeteners
Present in so many food products today! Normally found in diet cereals and soft drinks, low fat products and yoghurts. Critics actually say this chemical could have been a banned substance if on the board for approval today! It is a poison! Some symptoms cause headaches / migraines, nausea, depression, insomnia, memory loss, anxiety attacks, fatigue, irritability, weight gain (it increases ones appetite).
Soft Drinks
They have approximately 7 – 10 teaspoons of sugar in one can! They are loaded with artificial sweeteners, preservatives, colourants, flavourants and caffeine! They lead to obesity, tooth decay, osteoporosis and heart disease. You don’t have to be a scientist to realise why to eliminate these from your diet, and yesterday!
Soy
Soya is not a complete protein as it lacks 2 of the 8 essential amino acids. Soy isoflavones are phyto-endocrine disrupters and can prevent ovulation and stimulate the growth of cancer cells – eating only 30g per day can result in hypothyroidism and make one feel lethargic, constipated, fatigued and can cause weight gain!
Alcohol
Alcohol is toxic to the liver. Alcohol strips the body of its precious antioxidants. The more you have the more antioxidants you need to recover and reverse the effects. Alcohol really dehydrates the body and it destroys precious nutrients and bacteria in the body, causing serious disease like cancer later on. Particularly avoid alcohol after colonic irrigation as you will be more prone to retoxining or getting drunk quicker.
Bad Fats
Going back to the part about your pH – one of the worst acidifiers are things called hydronated fats or trans-fats.
These fats are designed to be stable at room temperature and introduced to increase the shelf life of many products on our shelves. You find these in many deep-fried or processed foods. Stay away – these are cancer causing, cholesterol forming toxins.Eat fruit ½ an hour away from other food. Fruit digests in no time and if eaten with other foods can ferment and rot in the bowel whilst waiting for the rest of the meal to be digested 5 Take a daily tonic called Bentonite Clay and Psyllium Husk. The clay helps bring the   body into a more alkaline state by absorbing and neutralizing toxins and the husk is fibre that swells up like a sponge, sticking to the walls of the colon and literally scraping it clean from the top down. These are recommended during your cleanse and before colonic irrigation.
